Farmers want veto on duty-free imports of agricultural products from Ukraine

Bulgarian farmers said that they want the cabinet to take urgent measures to impose a veto on duty-free import of agricultural products from Ukraine. Earlier today they protested with short blockades of the approaches to the border crossing with Romania near Vidin, Ruse, Silistra and Kardam.

About 2 million tons of sunflower are produced in Bulgaria per year, but no more than 5-10% of it has been realized on the market so far, the vice-chairman of the National Association of Grain Producers, Iliya Prodanov, said.
