Kremlin wags finger at Bulgaria and Czechia for repairing helicopters for Ukrainian army

“The repair and upgrade of Russian-made helicopters with their subsequent transfer to Ukraine are a gross violation of international commitments undertaken by the Czech Republic and Bulgaria.” the Russian Federal Service for Military-Technical Cooperation says, as quoted by TASS. “Pursuant to media reports, the Bulgarian state-owned companies Avionams and Terem-Letec and the Czech firm Lom Praha continue the illegitimate activity for the repair and upgrade of Soviet-and Russian-made combat helicopters for their subsequent delivery to Ukraine,” the Federal Service says further. In July last year, Russia suspended the certificates issued to the Czech state-owned enterprise Lom Praha and the Bulgarian companies Terem-Letec and Avionams. The companies were stripped of the right to carry out maintenance or repair of Russian helicopters, TASS writes.

At least six Russian missiles hit the Eastern city of Kharkiv late on Thursday night, and officials are gathering details about damage and casualties, said regional governor Oleh Sinegubov, Reuters reports. Russia has for months been launching drones and missiles against a wide variety of Ukrainian targets in a bid to damage vital infrastructure, Reuters writes further. The general staff of the Ukrainian army has announced that its troops have repulsed several Russian attacks at different points on the Eastern front.

On the 400th day of Russia’s war against Ukraine, President Volodymyr Zelensky stated his firm conviction that Ukraine will win against the Russian invaders: “I am sure that Ukraine will win this war. I am sure that international law will work again. I am sure that the Ukrainian Peace Formula will help the world protect itself from other similar aggressions. And I am sure that - against all odds - we will preserve our humanity, our civility, our morality and our belief that evil will always lose.”
