The Bulgaria-Serbia Interconnector (IBS) will be launched with a ceremony attended by the Presidents of the two countries, Rumen Radev and Aleksandar Vucic.

The interconnector has a total length of 170 km, 62 km of which is on Bulgarian territory. It connects the Bulgarian town of Novi Iskar with the Serbian town of Nis.

The gas pipeline has a capacity of 1.8 billion cubic metres of natural gas per year and is an important tool for diversifying natural gas supplies and ensuring energy security in South-East Europe.

Before the ceremony, scheduled for 11am Bulgarian time, Rumen Radev will hold a bilateral meeting with his host Aleksandar Vucic, the Bulgarian President's press secretariat said.
