Deputy Foreign Minister Elena Shekerletova received the credentials of the new Italian Ambassador in Sofia, Marcello Apicella, the Foreign Ministry said. During the talks, both sides expressed satisfaction with the long-standing friendly relations and intensive cooperation between the two countries. Italy's role as one of Bulgaria's main trading partners was acknowledged and both Ms Shekerletova and Mr Apicella expressed their countries' desire to further strengthen political, economic and cultural relations.
