Blind ultrarunner Victor Asenov has officially become part of the Everesting Hall of Fame, Sportal.bg reports. Between March 21 and 23, the ''Invictus'' Victor Asenov completed 19 consecutive ascents from Aleko Hut to Cherni Vrah Mount on Vitosha Mountain without sleep. His goal was to accumulate positive elevation gain equivalent to the height of Mount Everest (8,848 meters).
The data shows that he achieved a total elevation gain of 9,114 meters, covering a distance of 129.03 kilometers. The challenge took him 46 hours and 8 minutes. His accomplishment has been officially recognized by the organizers of the Everesting challenge.
"I'm very happy that the organizers confirmed the achievement. Even though it is in my name, this is a team success. I wholeheartedly thank all the pacers who stood by me, as well as Bozhidar Kartunov from ''Sports Heroes'', who managed the event’s organization.
