The political formation “Yes, Bulgaria” which is part of the opposition coalition “Democratic Bulgaria” is calling a national conference to elect a new leader or two leaders to replace former chairman Hristo Ivanov who resigned over poor results at the election for parliament on 9 June, 2024, when the coalition We Continue the Change/Democratic Bulgaria (PP/DB) came third with 14.33% of the votes. GERB/SDS and the Movement for Rights and Freedoms (DPS) came first and second.

There are six candidates for chairperson of “Yes, Bulgaria” – Bozhidar Bozhanov, Veselin Alexandrov, Elisaveta Belobradova, Ivaylo Mirchev, Nadezhda Yordanova and Svilen Trifonov. All six support the idea of amending the party’s statutes to allow for two co-chairpersons. Out of all candidates, Elisaveta Belobradova is the only one who categorically supports the idea of leaving the coalition format with “We Continue the Change”. “We have very deep-going ideological differences with We continue the Change,” she explained.

Strengthening the role of the local structures will be considered.
