The fire in the municipality of Svilengrad has been localized. This was announced to the Bulgarian National Radio by Anelia Georgieva, deputy mayor of the municipality, where a partial state of emergency was declared due to the fire that broke out in the Sakar mountain.

"At the moment, there is no active burning. There are still fires, but there is no danger to nearby settlements. There is smoke, but there is no danger to settlements."

700 hectares of forests and pastures between the villages have burned, she explained.

90% of the fires are started by people who clean their pastures and do not take precautions, Georgieva pointed out. According to unconfirmed information, the latest fire also happened in this way, the deputy mayor said.
