The sixth unit of the Kozloduy NPP will also start operating with American nuclear fuel next year. The first six Westinghouse cartridges will be placed in the reactor to determine their effect on electricity production. This became clear at a scientific conference on nuclear energy held in Nessebar, BNT has reported.
For more than a year, the fifth unit of the Kozloduy NPP has been operating with both Russian and American fuel. Previously, the units of the only Bulgarian NPP operated only with Russian nuclear fuel.
