The chairman of Vazrazhdane party, Kostadin Kostadinov, has filed a complaint with the prosecutor's office against Boyko Borissov on suspicion of treason. He bases his allegations on an article in the Wall Street Journal, which claims that GERB leader Boyko Borissov talked in the spring with Donald Trump Jr. about selling a share of the Turkish Stream and Neftochim Burgas oil base in exchange for lifting sanctions under the global Magnitsky Act against his "close allies".

"A Bulgarian politician - the chairman of the party in power, a mandate holder, allows himself to trade Bulgarian and foreign property in exchange for his personal party interest. This is called trading in power, trading in influence and is punishable, and when it is done with foreigners, it is treason," Kostadin Kostadinov said.

“I always promote Balkan Stream,” the GERB leader said in an interview with Nikolay Barekov.

The article reads that "former Prime Minister Boyko Borissov, still Bulgaria’s most powerful man,” saw an opportunity in April to “advertise the pipeline and other Bulgarian assets,” BTA reported.
