Bulgarian President Rumen Radev met EU ambassadors at the Danish Embassy to discuss challenges facing the EU, including the military conflicts in Ukraine and the Middle East. They also addressed the impact of these conflicts on Europe’s security, stability, and socio-economic systems, as well as the pursuit of EU strategic autonomy, the presidential press office said.

The meeting was initiated by Danish Ambassador Flemming Stender as part of Denmark’s EU Council Presidency. Vice President Iliana Yotova and Jordan Chobanova, head of the European Commission Representation in Bulgaria, also attended. Current domestic developments in Bulgaria were also discussed.

“The EU must be a strong actor. We need to strengthen Europe politically, economically, and militarily,” said Ambassador Stender.
