The opposition has submitted, to the National Assembly, a motion of no confidence in the government over economic policy. If the government does not resign, we shall call an even bigger protest on the day the motion is debated, probably Tuesday or Wednesday, said the chairman of We Continue the Change (PP) Assen Vassilev.

This year Bulgaria has registered a growth rate double than the European average, said on his part Prime Minister Rosen Zhelyazkov during question time in parliament today. At the end of 2025 the growth rate will be around 3%. EUR 2.5 billion will be invested under the EU recovery and resilience plan. EUR 4.5 billion more in tax revenues has been collected in 2024, said PM Zhelyazkov further, and rejected the opposition’s demand to submit his resignation. Boyko Borissov, leader of GERB, the party holding the mandate of the cabinet, stated that he has asked that the minimum wage not be linked to the average wage in the new draft budget, and that taxes and social security contributions not be raised.
