Bulgarian heavyweight boxer Kubrat Pulev steps into the ring in Dubai
today. He will defend his WBA world title in a 12-round bout against
Murat Gassiev from Russia. Pulev won the world title in a match
against Mahmoud Charr in December 2024 in Sofia.
"I have been preparing for 3 months now. My sparring matches went very well against a Cuban, a German and a Pole," Kubrat Pulev said at a press conference in Dubai. The 44-year-old Pulev has a balance of 32 wins (14 by knockout) and three losses in 35 professional matches. His opponent, who is 32 years old, also has 35 fights behind him, as his record is 32-2-0 (25 KOs), BTA reports.
