Christmas with the Bulgarian National Radio’s Big Band

A lot of festive cheer awaits us at the Christmas concert of the Bulgarian National Radio’s Big Band, conducted by Antoni Donchev, which will take place on December 18 in Studio 1 of BNR. The program features both international hits and popular Bulgarian songs dedicated to the upcoming holidays. They will be performed by singer Veleka Tsankova, actor and singer Boyan Todorov, and ten-year-olds Danaya and Boris – students of the vocal teacher Tyurkian Sali.

Big Band BNR follows the tradition of presenting new versions of familiar melodies – for the first time in a big band arrangement, we will hear Christmas songs by composers Stefan Diomov, Stefan Belev, Kristian Belev and Rafi Zhamakortsyan. The arrangements are by the musicians of the BNR Big Band: Arnau Garrofé, Nedelcho Ninov and Ivan Yordanov.

One of these songs is “Crystal Silence”, performed by Petar Salchev. Stefan Belev and Kristian Belev authored the music. The lyrics were written by director, screenwriter and writer Dimitar Kotzev – Shosho.
