In the past year, 350 cruise ships with over 51,000 tourists from all over the world docked at the passenger terminal of the Bulgarian port of Vidin-center on the banks of the Danube River.

This became clear during a meeting of the Advisory Council on Tourism to the Municipality of Vidin. Among the most attractive sites for tourists in the city was the medieval fortress "Baba Vida" - nearly 60,000.

The fortress "Babini Vidini Kuli", also called "Baba Vida", is located on an area of 9.5 decares on the banks of the Danube River, in the northern part of Vidin. It was built on the remains of the ancient city of Bononia. The construction of the medieval castle began in the second half of the 10th century, but the most significant construction took place during the Second Bulgarian Kingdom (late 12th - 14th centuries). The last Bulgarian king before the fall of Bulgaria under Ottoman rule, Ivan Sratsimir (1355 - 1397), lived in the fortress.
