Bulgarian pop singer DARA will represent Bulgaria at Eurovision 2026, which will take place in May in Vienna. She is the winner in the national selection for the 70th edition of the Eurovision Song Contest which will be held in Vienna between 12 and 16 May. Bulgaria returns to the prestigious forum after a pause of three years.

Darina Nikolaeva Yotova, better known by her stage name DARA, was born on September 9, 1998, in Bulgaria’s maritime capital, Varna. She graduated from the Dobri Hristov National School of Arts. DARA gained popularity in 2015 after her participation in the television music competition X Factor.

With the performance of her song “Thunder”, DARA won over both the audience and the jury. “A dream victory for DARA”, wrote the Eurovision website while presenting the Bulgarian singer and her win in the national selection.

The post also notes that, in addition to a ticket to Vienna, the winner was awarded a statuette crafted by the talented Bulgarian artist Stoyan Zikov, a laureate of numerous national and international awards.

On February 28, live on BNT 1, she will perform three songs written specifically for her participation in the contest. A combined vote by viewers and the jury will determine which of the three songs she will use to represent Bulgaria at Eurovision 2026. The Bulgarian song will be presented at the second semi-final on May 14.
