Investigation into possible crime in connection with the water crisis in Pernik has been held on the territory of Sofia and Pernik, this country’s Prosecutor General Ivan Geshev said. It has been held under the monitoring of the Specialized Prosecutor’s Office. Interrogation of witnesses and searches in the building of the Ministry of Environment and Water are also carried out. By order of Prosecutor General Geshev the regimes for import of waste, mainly from Italy to Bulgaria, have been checked. Over 30 people will be interrogated until Friday, Ivan Geshev added. Bulgaria’s Minister of Environment and Water Neno Dimov was taken for questioning with a vehicle of the Specialized Prosecutor’s Office.
