Today is Archangel All Souls' Day (zadushnitsa), a day on which we honour the memory of the dead and of the Bulgarian soldiers and officers who have lost their lives in times of war and peace and in peacekeeping operations. Memorial services will be held in churches across Bulgaria.
A Bulgarian delegation, headed by deputy chief of defence lieutenant general Plamen Atanasov will take part, at the Bulgarian military cemetery in Tsapari village, Macedonia, in a memorial service for the Bulgarian soldiers who lost their lives in World War 1. The ritual commemorating the fallen Bulgarian soldiers has taken place since 1924. The tradition was broken in 1946 and reinstated in 1992.
