Bulgaria is major captagon producer, says EU report

Bulgaria is a significant producer of captagon and a transit country for cocaine trafficking to Western Europe and the Middle East. The number of Bulgarians involved in cocaine trafficking has been constantly growing, shows the first EU Drugs Markets Report, announced by the European Monitoring Center for Drugs and Drug Addiction in cooperation with Europol. Bulgaria, and to a lesser extent Turkey, are believed to be major producers of captagon, says the report. Over the last few years the Bulgarian authorities seized 18 large-scale production facilities for the manufacture of captagon tablets, the document further reads.
