Best Bulgarian tennis player Grigor Dimitrov secured his first ATP tour title in Stockholm

Best Bulgarian tennis player Grigor Dimitrov secured his first ATP tour title on Sunday at the Stockholm Open winning against top-seeded David Ferrer of Spain 2-6, 6-3, 6-4. In an impressive match Dimitrov broke Ferrer's serve three times to win one of the last tournaments this season. 2013 has been the best season in Dimitrov’s career so far.

Silvia Miteva won a gold medal at the ribbon final and bronze medals at the ball and hoop finals during the Gran Prix rhythmic gymnastics tournament in Berlin. Earlier the Bulgarian remained third in the AA competition Russian Margarita Mamun won 3 gold medals in Berlin. This was the last competition for Miteva this year.

In its last qualification for the Brazil 2014 World Cup, the Bulgarian football side lost 0:1 against the Czech Republic. The match was played in Sofia and the guests scored the only goal in the 52nd minute of the game. In Group B only Italy qualified for the World Cup. Denmark took the second place but still could not qualify for the playoffs, as there are just eight spots from nine play-off groups.

In the 13th round of the Bulgarian football championship CSKA won 3:0 in the derby against Levski. After the victory CSKA rose to the third place in the chart. The team of Litex won 4:2 against Ludogoretz and the two teams topped the temporary chart with 28 points each. In the same round Lokomotiv won 3:1 against Slavia.

Two Bulgarian boxers continue their participation in the World Boxing Championships in Almaty (Kazakhstan). In the 64-kg category Airin Ismetov won against Israeli Igor Lazarev and in the round of 16 will face Aziz Bebitov from Turkemenistan. The other Bulgarian boxer who qualified for the round of 16 is Simeon Chamov (69kg).
