Friends of Radio Bulgaria look forward to the new website of the BNR

"I learned that you will have a new website soon which we are all looking forward to with the hope that it will be easily accessible and more dynamic that the current one”, says Jean-Marie Monplot from France. “In this regard, I suggest you think about a section in which listeners will be able to send photos and comments, a kind of forum open to all your friends. This would create a gallery of your fans who will be able to communicate with you and with each other. Many radio stations with websites in a virtual network have this practice and thus earn new listeners."

We found many recommendations and interesting comments regarding our shows in the September mailbag of letters and emails sent by the friends of Radio Bulgaria worldwide. Over 1,100 people have written this month, and more than 350 phoned to share their impressions.

Jean-Michel Aubier also from France proposes that it would be good to have a summary show "in which each of you reviews the events considered important in the year, also shares their hopes and desires and expectations for the new year."

The majority of the letters of our compatriots abroad this month are dedicated to the opening of the new school year in Bulgarian schools abroad, numbering 250 already.

The President of the Association of Bulgarians in Ukraine, Anton Kisse, said for Radio Bulgaria that they have submitted a proposal to the Government on giving Bulgarian language the status of a regional language in the Bolgrad area located on the territory of Bessarabia, Ukraine. "This makes it possible to allocate resources to support and preserve the language and also have documents and road signs with place names written in Bulgarian," he says in his letter.

During the month we received interesting feedback from our friends from different corners of the world who have visited our country. In July, Helmut Matt from Germany and his wife Linda also visited Bulgaria. Then they met with the editors of the German section of Radio Bulgaria. In his last letter Helmut says that very soon he is to release a book called "Bulgarian impressions" dedicated to their visit to our country. "I hope to find many readers and to arouse interest in your beautiful country," he wrote.

His compatriot Dieter Feltes liked the show from the Ecology series, dedicated to storks. He thanked for the information about what is happening in our country with which he has been connected for years. "I often hear about demonstrations in Bulgaria. I think such protests in economically uncertain years are not very useful. Production stops and the economy suffers even further. I hope the situation will soon calm down”, he says.

Among the most popular topics in the Facebook page of the French version is "European Mobility Week in Bulgaria", "105 anniversary of Unification", "Sofia ancient city with its place in the cultural history of Europe" and "Measures for the protection of Bulgarian farmers and producers." Michel Minouflet from Paris writes: "I follow with great interest your interpretation of the topic of Syria, which as you know, has ruffled some feathers in France because of a totally opposite position between President Hollande and 75% of the French, who are against the involvement of the country in this explosive conflict."

We had over a thousand visits this month in the Facebook page of the Russian version. More than a third of them are comments on various topics, including those on how Life stress affects the bad habits of Bulgarians, Academics with a vision of our national goals, Lakatnik is a paradise for nature lovers and high-adrenaline addicts, 105 years of Bulgaria’s independence, Tsar Peter – the peace-maker, Boxer Kubrat Pulev – the legend continues and others. The strongest interest was drawn to reports related to the protests, the reviews for a Bulgarian-Kazakh contemporary music group and the graffiti on the Monument to the Soviet Army.

In the social network we see the impressions of the programs in Albanian from the long-time friend of the editorial Fadil Ribari from Kosovo: "I congratulate you onthe informative section "Sunday meetings" from which one learns much about spas in the country. I myself have visited these beautiful and yet so healing places - Sandanski, Velingrad, Bankia, Varshetz, Pomorie, Stara Zagora mineral baths and many other centers with mineral water. I think Bulgaria is one of the richest countries in healing waters in the world. Friends, it is worth to visit, maybe there you will find your peace of mind”.

Among the programs in Turkish language that received most positive comments is the show dedicated to Mustafa Karakas, an artist and creator of local Turkish folklore. These comments come from our southern neighbor Turkey in particular from Ilkay Erden, who said he had followed the show with great interest on the Internet. Hatice Khalil from the village of Brestovene, Razgrad, even says in his letter: "You bring us news from around the world, you make phone calls with the audience and with the songs that play in your shows we just don’t feel how the days go by." Kerim Mahmoudov from the village of Branichevo, near Shumen, is even a fan of the show "Friday afternoon", which is broadcast live and deals with religious topics.

Warm regards arrived also from Buenos Aires, Argentina. The Facebook page of the Spanish version has a comment from Ernesto Licciardi Luzardo: "I remain your faithful listener of the programs in Spanish, which can be heard here very well." Regarding a commentary dedicated to the great import of fruit and vegetables to the Bulgarian market, Ricardo Adrián Calvo from Chile says: "It is unfortunate that you import so much meat and vegetables from abroad. When I lived in Bulgaria, this was not so. There were no milk or fish, and not to mention fruit and vegetables. I hope a better time soon comes for our favorite Bulgaria."
