Kubrat Pulev has convincingly defended his IBF intercontinental title and his place as pretender for a match with Wladimir Klitschko. The Cobra won by TKO against Joey Abell during a boxing gala in Neubrandenburg (Germany). The first round of the game began cautiously and in the second round the American showed more activity. In the third round the Bulgarians sent Abell knocked down and began to show his superiority in the game. At the beginning of the fourth round Abell took a series of heavy blows, but then managed to send Pulev down. Once the Bulgarian rose again he went into attack and after heavy blows the American twice fell in the ring. At the very end of the round, the referee terminated the match by technical knockout. Bulgarian Kubrat Pulev remains undefeated on the professional ring.

Bulgarian football champions Ludogorets /Razgrad / won 2:1 away against Croatian Dinamo / Zagreb / in their last match of the group stage of the Europa League. Ludogoretz finished the group stage with an unprecedented 16 points after five wins and one draw. Daniel Abalo scored for Ludogoretz in the 28th minute of the game. The hosts managed to score a goal in the final seconds of the first half after a corner kick. In the 72nd minute of the match Roman Bezyak scored a beautiful goal that shaped the outcome of the match.

In a match of the 23 round of the Bulgarian football championship CSKA won 7:0 against Lyubimets. In the same round Levski won 1:6 against Neftohimik and Ludogoretz defeated Lokomotiv Sofia 4-0. Litex also achieved a convincing victory over Lokomotiv Plovdiv (2:5). Before the winter break, the team of Litex leads the standings with 50 points, followed by Ludogorets that has 50 points but a game less. Levski climbed to the third place with 43 ​​points, while CSKA ranks fourth with 42 points.

During the past week the basketball team of Levski won 88:82 against Kumanovo 2009 from Macedonia in a match of the Balkan League. Lionel Chalmers of Levski scored 21 points. Thanks to the victory the Bulgarian team climbed to the fourth place in the standings of the tournament. Levski has 4 wins and 2 losses in the tournament. Kumanovo 2009 continues to lead with a total of 5 wins and 2 losses.

David Rinaldo of France on a Yamaha motorcycle won the Freestyle Motocross World Championships (IFMXF) after a dramatic final in Sofia. Rinaldo demonstrated incredible acrobatic skills during the Night of the Jumps in the Bulgarian capital city. In his last jump the pilot hit the protective wall and later left the competition with a broken arm. In his last jump Libor Podmol who was just a point behind Rinaldo did not perform a trick and so gentlemanly secured the first place for Rinaldo. Winner of the Grand Prix of Bulgaria became Spanish Maikel Melero with KTM.
