Tsvetana Pironkova loses first match in New Haven

Bulgaria’s top female tennis player Tsvetana Pironkova lost to Evgeniya Rodina, Russia by 3-6, 0-6 in 59 minutes in the first round of the qualifications for the hardcourt tennis tournament in New Haven, USA. To begin with Pironkova was supposed to start the qualifications with a match versus Qiang Wang, China but then her rival was replaced. Still, Pironkova earned one point for the world tennis rankings.
