PM Borissov talks ahead of EU Bratislava summit

In connection with the upcoming EU summit in Bratislava on 16 September, Bulgarian Prime Minister Boyko Borissov has talked over the phone with German Chancellor Angela Merkel, and with the prime ministers of Hungary and Serbia, Viktor Orban and Aleksandar Vucic. Talking to Merkel, Borissov has insisted on joint solutions to problems related to the migrant crisis and on solidarity in carrying out agreements achieved and commitments made so far. In another telephone call, Borissov and Orban have agreed that the Bratislava summit should necessarily discuss the situation in the EU in the context of Brexit. With Vucic Borissov has discussed the need to promote bilateral communication and options for cooperation in energy, including the construction of a gas connection between Bulgaria and Serbia.
