Bulgarian Vice President Iliana Iotova subscribes to a gradual removal of sanctions against Russia.
Talking to Nova Television she said: “In principle this position has not changed given that these sanctions have not yielded the results that everyone expected. Bulgaria is not alone in this position – there are many voices even in Germany not to mention a declaration voted by the French parliament for lifting sanctions, because they harm the interests of the average citizens of European countries.”
At the end of December EU sanctions against Russia were extended by another six months. Discussion of sanctions will reopen in late 2017.
