The uranium content in tap water across the town of Velingrad and the villages nearby exceeds twice the admissible level, the regional health inspectorate reports. The water sources that have shown deviations have already been cut off the water supply system of the resort town and an alternative source – a pumping station, now provides water. A recommendation has been sent to the people from the nearby villages: not to drink the water, but to use it for their household needs only.
