Bulgaria will benefit from Macedonia’s accession to the European Union, Bulgaria’s Premier Boyko Borissov said in an interview for TV+ channel. Premier Borissov underlined that Macedonia should become an EU member state and that everything was in the hands of the political class in that country. Boyko Borissov made that comment shortly after Macedonia’s President Gjorge Ivanov handed in a mandate to the leader of the oppositional Social Democratic Union of Macedonia Zoran Zaev to form a cabinet. On Thursday the EU welcomed the act of Macedonia’s President. Only a stable government in Macedonia can ease the political tension in that country. If that happens, Bulgaria will initiate a bilateral meeting on Macedonia’s European future, Premier Borissov further said.
