The levels of the rivers in the Danube basin are expected to rise because of the abundant rain, the Pleven water authority cautions.

The water catchments are expected to rise of the rivers Yantra, Rossitsa, Iskar, Ogosta, Vit, Osum and Russenski Lom.

In just three hours 60 litres of rain per sq. m. fell in Shoumen, the monthly norm for the whole of June being 75. Reports of flooded houses in the villages Novosel, Srednya and Cherencha have been looked into but no serious damage has been ascertained. Traffic along the Varna-Sofia route, in the section between Shoumen and Turgovishte is now back to normal.
