In New York Bulgarian President Rumen Radev is scheduled to meet today with UN Secretary General Antonio Guterres on the sidelines of his participation in the annual session of the United Nations General Assembly.

Later the head of state will visit the Bulgarian church in New York and will meet with the representatives of the Bulgarian community in the General Consular Office.

Yesterday at a working meeting in New York, the President of Bulgaria Rumen Radev urged the American businesses to make good use of the favorable conditions that this country provides to investors with its strategic location as a factor of stability in Southeast Europe, membership of EU and NATO, qualified hands and competitive taxation.

Representatives of US businesses put questions related to protection of intellectual property, development of the transport and energy infrastructure of Bulgaria and the prospects of this country’s emergence as a technological center in Southeastern Europe.

Bulgaria will be able to attract much more investors from USA, but for this to take place we have to write our homework – combating corruption should be uncompromising: this is the view expressed by President Rumen Radev after he met with Bill Clinton who served as president of USA from 1993 till 2001.

The Bulgarian president said Bulgaria had the support of Bill Clinton for greater presence of the theme ‘Bulgaria” in US business circles. Radev has invited Clinton to visit the country again and to deliver a lecture to Bulgarian students.
