Bulgarian Parliamentary delegation visits Serbia

Bulgarian Parliamentary delegation headed by National Assembly President Dimitar Glavchev is paying an official visit to Serbia. The economic development of the border municipalities and the rights of the Bulgarian minority in Serbia were in the focus of discussions between Dimitar Glavchev and Dimitrovgrad Mayor Vladica Dimitrov. On the start of its visit the Bulgarian delegation laid wreath to the monument of Vasil Levski in Dimitrovgrad. The economic development of the border municipalities depends on our common efforts, Dimitar Glavchev said. Bulgaria will work together with Serbia to boost cross-border cooperation, Dimitar Glavchev went on to say and added that the number of Bulgarian tourists visiting Niš, Bosilegrad and Dimitrovgrad has increased which contributed to the progress of these municipalities. Dimitrovgrad Mayor Vladica Dimitrov said in return that tourism has been the main occupation of the local population in the recent years and that between 5,000 and 10,000 Bulgarian tourists visit the town of Dimitrovgrad on a monthly basis during the active tourist season. The visit of the Bulgarian Parliamentary delegation is a prerequisite for good bilateral cooperation, Vladica Dimitrov pointed out.
