Bulgaria second in trust in EU: Eurobarometer

Bulgaria ranks second among EU Member States regarding trust in the bloc, a survey of Eurobarometer has found.

The total of 57% of Bulgarians have trust in EU while 29% do not trust the bloc. Regarding trust, Bulgarians are second only to Lithuanians with a ratio of 64% to 29%. Trust in the Union is at its lowest in Greece – 23%.

According to 61% of Bulgarians the current situation of the EU economy is good and only 17% opt for the opposite view. 74% of polled Bulgarians assess negatively the situation of the national economy.

For 31% of Bulgarians the most important issues of the country are health and social services; rising prices, inflation, the cost of living and the economic situation. Unemployment worries 22% of respondents.
