Eco-activists continue to protest against second gondola lift in Bansko

Eco-activists protested on Thursday against the decision of the Bulgarian cabinet to allow the construction of a second gondola lift in the winter resort of Bansko. On Friday evening the environmentalists will continue to protest in the streets of Bulgaria’s capital Sofia. The people opposing this project said they would continue to protest during the forthcoming Bulgarian Presidency of the Council of the European Union which begins in January. The Bulgarian eco-activists are preparing a large protest on January 4. They also intend to appeal the decision related to the change of the management plan of Pirin National Park and to approach the European Commission on the matter.
