For the first time in history, the Macedonian Orthodox Church – Ohrid Archbishopric will receive the Holy Fire and this will be done with the help of Bulgaria, BGNES reported. The fire will arrive to the Sofia Airport and will be given to the representative of the Holy Synod of the Macedonian Orthodox Church, Metropolitan Ilarion. Immediately thereafter, Metropolitan Ilarion will fly onboard a helicopter to Skopje Airport, from where the fire will be handed over to all churches in the Republic of Macedonia. A Bulgarian clergyman brought the Holy Fire from Jerusalem for the first time in 2005, BGNES reports.
