District of Columbia recognizes Bulgarian as foreign language in high school diplomas

The Department of Education of the Federal District of Columbia in Washington has included a Bulgarian language test in the program „Seal of Biliteracy”.

After they pass successfully an exam in Bulgarian, high school graduates’ diplomas will read that apart from English they have proficiency in Bulgarian, the press service of the Bulgarian Foreign Ministry said. 

Earlier this month, the Bulgarian language was recognized as a foreign language in high school diplomas by the educational institutions in USA, as well as by the states of Maryland and Virginia.
