Some politicians are at war with the Bulgarian statehood. By discrediting the Presidential institution these people put Bulgaria’s belonging in Europe at stake in the midst of the Bulgarian Presidency of the Council of the European Union, Bulgaria’s head of state Rumen Radev told journalists. In President Radev’s view, some people are trying to privatize the European idea for personal political purposes. “What kind of Europeans are the politicians who allowed corruption, poverty and injustice to turn into Bulgaria’s business card and let Bulgaria leave the European map with regard to the freedom of media", President Radev asked. Rumen Radev underlined that "corruption in Bulgaria is visible overseas as well" and was part of the report of the United States Department of State.
