The Bulgarian road hauliers decided to organize peace protests on May 17 on the day of the EU-Western Balkans Summit in Sofia. The protests aim at informing the leaders of the Western European countries about the size of damages the amendments to the so-called Mobility Package may cause on the Bulgarian economy and the Bulgarian citizens, Angel Trakov, Chairman of the Managing Board of the Union of International Hauliers said. The Bulgarian carriers decided unanimously to continue defending the right of doing business without discrimination and double standards in the EU. The protesters will hold procession with TIR trucks and busses in the Sofia streets and avenues. Nearly 200 cargo vehicles and busses will take part at the protest in Sofia. Protests are also organized in other big Bulgarian cities- Plovdiv, Veliko Tarnovo, Vratsa, Vidin, Ruse, Blagoevgrad, Sandanski, Petrich, etc, Angel Trakov added.
