More than 900 athletes from 62 countries to join World Rowing Championships in Plovdiv

More than 900 athletes from 62 countries are going to take part in the World Rowing Championships for men and women, due from 9 to 16 September in Plovdiv. They will vie for medals in 14 Olympic and 6 non-Olympic events, as well as in 9 events for persons with disabilities.

The biggest team comes from USA with 27 boats. Bulgaria is taking part in three events with three boats.

For the Championships, the President of the International Olympic Committee Thomas Bach and the President of the International Rowing Federation (FISA) Jean-Christophe Roland will visit Bulgaria.
