UAE wants to import organic food from Bulgaria

Emil Karanikolov, Minister of Economy of Bulgaria and Mariam Al Mehairi, Minister of State for Food Security of the United Arab Emirates discussed, in Sofia, the promotion of contacts between Bulgaria and the United Arab Emirates.

Over the first 7 months of 2018, trade between Bulgaria and the UAE amounted to USD 85.7 million, with Bulgarian exports standing at USD 66.8 million, and imports at USD 18.9 million. The sides laid emphasis on the prospects of promoting bilateral relations in the food industry, trade in agricultural products, building materials, the cosmetics industry and tourism.

“It is important for us to create good relations with countries like Bulgaria, from which we can import organic food,” stressed Minister of State for Food Security of the UAE Mariam Al Mehairi.
