The winner of the first-ever swimming marathon in the icy waters of Antarctica Petar Stoychev dolt details about the secret of his successful swimming amidst pieces of ice and in -1.2°C water temperature. Stoychev admitted that the long expedition was the most difficult part of this challenge. It was held in the course of nearly one month and weather changed constantly in Antarctica. The weather changes every 15 minutes and you cannot make any action plans whatsoever. Now it may be sunny, but few minutes later it starts snowing or become very windy, Petar Stoychev said after he returned to Bulgaria. My body temperature before the competition was 37.3°C and dropped down to 30.8°C after the end of the marathon. I felt very cold, but I tried to stay focused and save my power for the swimming. Petar Stoychev said that he always thinks positively during the competition and believes in victory. In two months he will take part at the world ice swimming championship on the North Pole in Murmansk.
