“Bulgaria is at an advanced stage in its preparations for all possible Brexit scenarios. We have two plans of action for the withdrawal of the UK from the EU – if there is a deal, and if there is no deal with the EU,” said Prime Minister Boyko Borissov at a meeting with the EU Chief Negotiator for Brexit Michel Barnier within the frameworks of the Munich security conference.

In Boyko Borissov’s words, Sofia stands by the Brexit agreement because it “guarantees the rights of citizens and businesses, the budget of the EU, the integrity of the single market, and the peace process in Ireland.”

“For Bulgaria the social and health rights of citizens come first,” the Bulgarian Prime Minister said. He expressed full support for the EU Chief Negotiator for Brexit and congratulated him on the excellent work of the negotiating team.
