In 2018 Bulgaria’s government debt was 22.6% of the GDP

According to preliminary data of the National Statistical Institute, in 2018 Bulgaria’s government debt registered a budget surplus of EUR 1,099 million, or 2.0% of this country’s gross domestic product. The government debt amounted to EUR 12,496 million, or 22.6% of the GDP. The data has been prepared under a harmonized methodology of the EU, NSI specifies.
