On the recommendation of the European Commission, changes to the Judiciary System Act are being discussed in Bulgaria. They allow the "three major ones" in the judiciary system - the presidents of the Supreme Cassation and Supreme Administrative Courts, and the Chief Prosecutor to be temporarily removed from office, Justice Minister Danail Kirilov said after meeting with President Rumen Radev. The two have discussed the election of a new Chief Prosecutor. The extent to which the Supreme Judicial Council may decide on violations committed by one of the "three" has been discussed. Kirilov commented that the consultations he had started do not undermine the procedure for the election of a new Chief Prosecutor. I will refrain from raising a candidacy because the proposals must come entirely from the Supreme Judicial Council, the minister said.
