Volunteers from ten countries to participate at restoration of Early Christian basilica in Bulgaria

Volunteers from ten countries, including historians, engineers, architects and conservators-restorers will participate at the restoration of the Early Christian basilica in Palmatis Fortress near Tervel, Northeast Bulgaria. The project is organized by Tervel Municipality in partnership with са European heritage volunteers and the Regional Museum of History in Dobrich. Between July 14 and July 28 the volunteers from Bulgaria, Russia, Japan, India, China, Germany, Kosovo, Albania, the USA and Spain will examine the condition of parts of the basilica and will offer a strategy for their conservation. Palmatis is an ancient Roman town which was given the statute of episcopal center in the 6th century AD.
