Balkan titles for Ivet Lalova-Collio and Tihomir Ivanov

Tihomir Ivanov, champion at this year’s Summer Universiade in Italy, won a title in the high jump at the Balkan athletics championship in the Bulgarian town of Pravets, clearing 2.27 metres.

Sprinter Ivet Lalova-Collio won the 100 metres Balkan title, clocking 11.23 seconds (+1.2 m./sec.). Diana Weissman, Israel, came second with 11.25 seconds, and third – another Bulgarian competitor – Inna Eftimova with 11.56 seconds.

Former Bulgarian football legend Hristo Stoychkoff came to watch Ivet Lalova-Collio compete, as did Sebastian Coe, President of the International Association of Athletics Federations and former world pole vault record holder Sergey Bubka.
