President Rumen Radev in London: It is important how money invested in defense is transformed into capabilities

Five years ago, all Member States became committed to increasing their spending on defense, but this must be transparent and effective. Here, too, the quantitative criterion should not be the only measuring mechanism, said Bulgarian President Rumen Radev on his arrival in London to attend the meeting of the North Atlantic Council, as part of a two-day NATO summit taking place in the British capital. In Radev’s opinion, it is important how these investments become transformed into defense capabilities. He called for using the NATO summit as a means of reinforcing unity and enhancing security, and as an opportunity to address existing controversies and hold a constructive debate.
