Bulgaria calls for system for early detection of extremism

Speaking to an international forum in Sofia on countering extremism, Interior Minister Mladen Marinov said there was no danger to the country posed by terrorists returning from the Middle East and passing through Bulgaria. Bulgaria is at low risk, but it does not make us any less vigilant. Western Balkan countries and the EU co-operate in the fight against terrorism and radicalization, the interior ministers of Bulgaria, Kosovo, North Macedonia and Albania said clearly. Marinov also called for the establishment of a system for early detection of acts of extremism, even at the level of hate speech. In his view, a comprehensive approach is needed to address these challenges.
