27 March is World Theatre Day, celebrated as such since 1961 by a decision of the UNESCO International Theatre Institute.

For the first time in the history of theatre, this year plays are being web-streamed because of the global coronavirus pandemic

In an address to the theatre community, President Rumen Radev pointed out that even in times of hardship the spirit of artists continues to heal souls, and expressed confidence that they will soon be getting even warmer applause on stage.
