The coronavirus pandemic has swept low-quality foodstuffs off the market. Imitation products have disappeared because there is no import of the raw materials for them. At the same time the prices have stayed the same and no inflation is expected because of restricted consumption.

Bulgarian vegetable producers and the processing industry are capable of guaranteeing the food necessary for the population, with no risk of a food crisis, said Vladimir Ivanov, chairman of the State Commodity Exchange and Markets Commission in an interview for the BNR.
