Bulgarian companies join lawsuit against European truck manufacturers cartel

Photo: Radio Vidin

More than 30 Bulgarian transport firms have joined the collective action of 1,000 companies from 17 countries for compensation from heavy truck manufacturers. The lawsuit is against a price cartel between 6 leading truck manufacturers.

The cartel was established by the European Commission in 2014 as it used to hold 90% of Europe's trucks production and market. The manufacturers were fined € 1.3 billion for market manipulation.
Entrepreneurs are now claiming damages of between € 5,000 and € 10,000 for each truck purchased. Bulgarian companies have acquired over 1,100 machines.
The Munich-based court has started work on the lawsuit.
