Bulgarians mark May 1 at home for the first time

For the first time in its history, the International Day of Labour and Workers' Solidarity - May 1 - is celebrated worldwide amidst a global pandemic. In Bulgaria, May 1 is an official holiday and non-working day.

Usually,  traditional left-wing initiatives take place in many places in the country on this day, which are now impossible given the current state of emergency and forbidden gathering of people in one place.
This year, the leadership of the Bulgarian Socialist Party has called on people to stay home, and, instead of the usual activities, it organized an online campaign called "Jobs and Income".
