Extreme fire danger index issued for 5 Bulgarian districts

Extreme fire danger index has been issued for 5 Bulgarian districts on Wednesday, data of the National Institute of Meteorology and Hydrology show. The level of waring applies to Haskovo, Yambol, Stara Zagora, Sliven and Burgas districts.

Firefighters are still trying to extinguish the massive fire near the town of Devin (Southwest Bulgaria) which covered nearly 150 hectares of forests in a difficult terrain. There is no danger of the local population being affected by the calamity, the correspondent of the Bulgarian National Radio Radostina Chernokova informed.

Firefighters have been trying to extinguish the fire at Sviloza chemical plant in Svishtov for a third consecutive day. The damages are yet to be estimated. So far, there is no danger of the local residents being affected by the smoke.
